This meeting focused on our Good Jobs Challenge Nursing Assistant Training Hub. The grant-funded initiative brings together five healthcare employers and four training providers to train nearly 300 CNAs over two years while providing wrap-around supports, career exploration and planning, and mentoring. The project also supported 9 incumbent frontline healthcare workers to begin training as a Registered Nurse.

Agenda included:

• Program outcomes, including lessons learned and take-aways for future programming
• Program Spotlight on Loyola Medicine’s hire-first apprenticeship model in partnership Valparaiso University’s Partner Services (formerly Oak Point University), including alumni testimonies
• Opportunity to tour Valparaiso’s facility after the meeting, and to learn more about opportunities to partner with them on apprenticeship training models

Quarterly meetings are open to all stakeholders invested in creating a stronger, more inclusive healthcare workforce in Chicagoland. Meetings typically include updates on our work, presentations about new programs and partnership opportunities, and networking.
