Success is most likely attained when employees are encouraged and valued. By offering innovative solutions such as long-term development through education and training opportunities to new career pathways for employees, the Retention & Career Pathways Action Team is not only lowering costs for employers, but also stabilizing communities. Supporting entry level and front-line employees that are in good-standing has the opportunity to positively impact retention figures throughout the industry.
The Retention & Career Pathways Action Team has already successfully created and implemented a program to work toward retention. The Medical Assistant Pathway Program (MAPP) provides free training to non-clinical, full-time employees and places them on track to become Medial Assistants with their current employer. As of this writing, the Medial Assistant field is one of the top 15 fastest-growing jobs in the country, with an estimated 29 percent U.S. job growth by 2026.
The Retention & Career Pathways Action Team collaborates with educators, training providers, and recognized employers to create innovative solutions and build the infrastructure so programs like MAPP can continue to build out and work across the entire Chicagoland area.
